Jack likes words.
Jack Norcross is a Quarter Rat through and through. Walking through The French Quarter to the Mississippi River has been, some seasons, a near nightly practice Jack has engaged as an act of prayer for over 16 years. The significant majority of Jack's earning as an adult has been achieved through selling his art in the French Quarter. The collective endeavor of individual artists to grow and market in sanctified space is the foundation of a unique culture in New Orleans.
Jack claims the mantle of Quarter Rat because he believes it is a space of special insight. It is his direction towards the street that Jack believes to be the most elemental aspect of his work. With this direction in his endeavor of life, Jack believes the psychological girding for all of his art is essentially a product of his steps inside this city. It is the outer-voice that conversates with him on his nightly walks, so his dreams can become collective and aspirations can be collectively achieved. A good direction is concerned with the health of every one. On the street we are all trying to stay alive and come up. It is our investment in one-another that becomes investments in our selves.
